Study from Matthew 13
God’s kingdom is wherever God reigns, which is the whole universe since almighty God is the creator of all things – Daniel 4:34, Rev 11:15, Lamentations 5:19, Psalm 47:8. The kingdom of God should be the most important aspect of our lives, must come first and not relegated to the back burner. For believers in the body of Christ, who have repented and surrendered their lives to Christ (Matthew 4:17) the kingdom of God is God’s personal rule over our hearts, minds, souls and bodies (Deut 6:5, Luke 10:27) as we submit ourselves to him with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Being a believer in God’s kingdom entails that I bear fruits. But I can only bear fruits in Christ when I yield and surrender myself to the leadership and guidance of the Holy Spirit. This is because he (the Holy Spirit) works in and through me to bear fruits. Part of bearing fruits as a believer is telling others about Jesus. When we witness to people about Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit then convicts them of sin and righteousness and helps to lead them to repentance and salvation (John 16:7-11).The Holy Spirit is the one who wins souls to the Kingdom, we just have to make ourselves available to him.
What are fruits? Fruits are more than sharing the gospel although this is a man part of being a christian, all the works of the Holy Spirit leads to us bearing fruits. The fruits of the Spirit includes love, joy, peace, patience kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5: 22-23). Through these fruits the Holy Spirit produces in us, he also wins souls to Christ.
So God’s kingdom is about being renewed or being born again into the body of Christ through the Holy spirit and being used by the Holy spirit to produce fruits that glorify God.
God bless.
